The Population-Based Nursing course is designed to facilitate the concept of population groups and communities as clients and partners in the pursuit of health and risk reduction. The history of public health and community health nursing will be discussed, as will the effect of these nursing specialties on health and wellness. This course addresses population-focused health concerns, including disease and disasters, and discusses the provision of appropriate interventions to a variety of different groups. Nursing care for global and vulnerable populations will be explored.
